Community College Partner: Morton College
Through the HSI STEM Cooperation Grant, National Louis University (NLU) and Morton College are partnering through Morton's Computer Information Systems (CSIS) program to offer students the opportunity to transfer to NLU to complete a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science & Information Systems. Through this transfer opportunity, students are able to complete their degree within four years, in addition to receiving support through the benefits of the program, which include; HSI Peer Mentor Program, CSIS Computer Lab, CSIS Academic Tutor, and a CSIS Career Specialist to name a few.
NLU HSI Advisory Board
The Hispanic Serving Institution (HSI) Advisory Committee, comprised of NLU Leadership, key HSI project stakeholders, and broader community members, is charged with advancing NLU’s evolution from an emerging to serving HSI, building greater recognition and awareness within the community of the HSI programs and progress to-date in order to continue improving the success of NLU’s growing Latinx student population.

Objective 1: Build a shared understanding of NLU’s current programs, supports, and outcomes related to its position as an HSI and recommend strategies to communicate to the broader internal and external community.

Objective 2: Provide input on critical components of NLU’s HSI programs and goals in order to positively impact the success of underrepresented student populations.

Objective 3: Foster collaborations and partnerships that build recognition of NLU’s work as an HSI, strengthening outreach strategies, enrollment pipelines and career opportunities for students.

Objective 4: Identify opportunities for professional development and training across NLU to build institutional capacity as an HSI and also impact retention of diverse faculty and staff.

Objective 5: Provide recommendations for programs of interest to the Latinx community, including initiatives creating an inclusive environment that appreciates Hispanic culture and history.
