Sherell D. Wilson, Ph.D.

With a Ph.D. and more than 20 years of progressive expertise in administration and consulting spanning higher education, K-12, and non-profit sectors, Dr. Wilson currently serves as an Assistant Professor of Educational Leadership for doctoral and master's degree programs at National Louis University. She is also the founder and CEO of Beyond College Access LLC, an educational consulting company. 

From 2019-2020, Dr. Wilson served as Statewide Director/Consultant for Take Stock in Children of Florida, spearheading the "Take Stock in College" initiative to increase retention and postsecondary completion rates across the state’s 40 public colleges and universities. From 2008-2019, she served as a district-based administrator for the School District of Hillsborough County (the 8th largest school district in the nation), overseeing K-12 Non-Traditional and Federal Title I education programming to provide support systems and interventions for at-risk students across the county. Concurrently, she served three terms as an elected executive board member for the Hillsborough Association of School Administrators. Prior roles also include Assistant Dean/Adjunct Professor at Hillsborough Community College and K-12 Teacher of Students with Special Needs.

In addition to scholarly and professional activities, Dr. Wilson is a member of several editorial review boards for academic journals, including the Academy of Educational Leadership Journal, Journal of Student Affairs Research and Practice, and Global Journal of Business Pedagogy as well as a member of specialized professionals associations such as NASPA – Student Affairs Administrators in Higher Education, American Grant Writers’ Association, Hillsborough School District Equity & Diversity Task Force, and National Council on Black American Affairs. She is also engaged in the community as a mentor for the Take Stock in Children Program and a leader within Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc.

Dr. Wilson teaches courses across the curriculum, provides guidance and supervision to graduate students and serves on dissertation committees, contributes to curriculum development, program improvement, and partnership coordination, and engages in an active program of research and scholarship.
