Special Interest Committees

Launched in 2022 in response to staff feedback, these three Special Interest Committees will be led by a Staff Rep with additional staff members across campuses and departments to determine and implement initiatives throughout the year.

Engagement and Recognition Committee

Create opportunities for staff across all NLU departments, centers, and campuses (including remote) to engage through educational, social and community outreach events to build a culture of collaboration and community. Build a culture of appreciation and recognition of staff (individual and team) consistently and equitably throughout the university to boost morale.

Professional Development Committee

Create regularly-offered professional and personal development opportunities and supports to promote employee (both staff and management) growth

Communications and Connections Committee

Provide consistent, clear, and timely staff-related information to and space for sharing feedback by the NLU community to advance transparency, improve knowledge sharing, empower employees, and create a synergy around institutional goals

New members are always welcome! Click here to view these Committees' initiatives or 'charges' for 2025-2026 and for the representative in charge of each committee.
